I have been developing information products for business and government professionals since 1986.  These products include

  • Online daily legal news service delivered via WESTLAW, web, email, and distributed by more than 20 legal newspapers across the country.
  • For Congressional Quarterly: custom research service, speakers bureau, research packets, NetShop, and FAQs.
  • More than 75 conferences and seminars, including audio and video tapes.

My experience includes

  • Developing and implementing business strategy: developed and implemented business plan for startup online news service.
  • Editorial system development: coordinated the development of an SGML-based editorial system, working with technical, marketing, design and editorial team members.
  • Mentoring and coaching: worked with high school and college students and recent college graduates and staff on career development, law school graduates on passing the bar exam, and numerous lawyers to develop articles, books and speeches that complemented their professional development plans.
  • Product development: conferences, tapes, books, online news.
  • Research and writing: winning trial and appellate briefs.
  • Marketing and sales: writing advertising copy, brochure layout, developing marketing plans, and making presentations to telemarketers and sales staff.
  • P&L responsibility: publishing, seminars and retail grocery.
  • Management: more than fifteen years' experience in nonprofits, publishing, conferences and retail.
  • Editorial leadership: recruited, trained and managed editorial staffs that included lawyers and journalists and outside authors including academics, practitioners, judges and consultants.

During law school, I co-founded and operated a legal research business, clerked for a civil litigation law firm and drove a taxi.

Before embarking in the legal world, he worked in the retail grocery business, including several years managing the grocery department of a supermarket-sized food co-op in Denver.
